Not a list of titles I found online — books I've used, marked up, and gone back to. • Electric Motor Repair, Rosenberg & Hand, 4th ed. — The standard shop reference for rewinding procedure, data collection, and reconnection diagrams.
• Coil Winding Specialist's Handbook — softcover. Winding geometry, layer calculations, tension, and termination. The book the other books don't cover.
• Transformer & Inductor Design, McLyman, abridged — Core selection, turns ratio, wire sizing, and thermal considerations without the full graduate-level treatment.
• Small Generator Service Manual — spiral-bound. Portable and bench-proof. Covers portable and standby generator heads, AVR circuits, and field excitation.
• Pocket AWG / mil / mm Conversion Guide — laminated card. Lives on the bench. Wire gauge, diameter in mil and mm, resistance per foot, current capacity.
• Master index with reading order and shop notes — printed, our own. Cross-references topics across all seven titles and tells you which book to open first for common repair scenarios.

Who it's for

Someone starting out in motor and transformer repair who wants a working library, not a reading list. Someone experienced who has been making do with one or two references and wants the gaps filled. The set covers theory, procedure, calculation, and quick lookup — the four things you actually need at the bench.
